Add a contact form

Keep the form on your website. MailContact receives its messages and saves them in your inbox.

1. Copy your form link

Open your inbox settings and choose Contact form, or Forms & email on paid plans. Copy the link shown under your form.

This link connects your website’s form to the right MailContact inbox. It isn’t a contact page to share with visitors.

2. Add it to your website

Using Lovable, Bolt or Cursor?

Copy this prompt into your builder. Replace the placeholder with the form link you just copied.

Connect my website’s contact form to MailContact.
My MailContact form link: [PASTE YOUR FORM LINK]
Keep the form’s design and send its messages to this link without leaving the page.
Use MailContact’s hosted /forms/v1.js script from the form link’s origin, loaded once with defer. Add data-mailcontact-form to the form and use the link as its action with method POST, plus a data-contact-status element for feedback. The script injects the hidden check and handles sending and automatic spam verification.
Keep the visible, readable and clickable Processed by mailcontact.app link required on Free. Pro and Plus do not require attribution. For a custom submit handler, omit the automatic marker and use MailContact.prepare(form) before interaction, then MailContact.send() with your own feedback and attribution element.
Show a confirmation only when the message has been received. If sending fails, show an error and keep the visitor’s message so they can retry.
Use the script’s browser-language feedback. To force a supported language on an automatic form, set data-mailcontact-language, for example fr. In a custom handler, pass language to MailContact.send() and use MailContact.getMessages(language) for translated states; error codes stay unchanged.
Follow https://mailcontact.app/docs/form-endpoint for the connection details.

Using another website builder?

Use our form builder to choose your fields and copy the finished form. Add it to an embed or custom code block on your website.

The code includes MailContact’s script for sending, confirmations and automatic spam checks. Compatible improvements arrive automatically, without replacing the code on your site.

Sending feedback and errors follow the visitor’s browser language. Your developer can force a language with data-mailcontact-language="fr" on the form. Supported languages and customization →

Free forms show a small “Processed by mailcontact.app” link. Keep it visible and clickable: the script checks it before sending. Pro and Plus forms have no MailContact attribution.

Your website plan must allow this type of block. If someone manages your site, send them the form link and ask them to connect it.

3. Send a test message

Fill in the form on your website. Use your email address and a short test message. Open MailContact to check that it arrived.

If it doesn’t appear, check Spam: suspicious messages can be held for review without sending an alert. Owners and collaborators can restore a legitimate message. Then ask your builder or the person managing your site to check the connection. Contact us if you’re stuck.

What happens next?

Turn on alerts to hear when someone writes. On Pro and Plus, you can also reply from MailContact.

Free includes 50 form messages a month, kept for 30 days. See plans →
